• Local author Dean King’s new book “Guardians of the Valley: John Muir and the Friendship that Saved Yosemite,” that will be released this week with a launch party and a new Guardians of the Valley IPA from Three Notch’d Brewery.

• Our Quote of the Week from volunteers and organizers at Richmond Tool Bank and Ring Dog Rescue that built more than six dozen new doghouses.

• The Chickahominy Indian Tribe’s concerns about the future of their property along the water and their efforts to protect their ancestral lands, including the 1,200 acre Mamanahunt tract in Charles City County, which was “one of several village sites along the Chickahominy River where the tribe was living when Jamestown colonists arrived".
