THE ALT 5

ALT #1 — OFF THE BEATEN PATH: Fall Line Assembly
You have probably heard about the Fall Line Trail as it keeps getting mentioned more and more, and it will be a trail running from the Appomattox River Trail in Petersburg, intersect with the Capital Trail in Richmond, and head north to the center of the universe (aka Ashland, VA).

But if you are not familiar with what the Fall Line Trail is all about, here is a good primer because not only will you hear even more about it in the coming months and years, you will see it start to be put together in bits and pieces. And once it is complete, the 43-mile trail will be a real gem.

Regional planners see it as a “spine trail” that can connect towns, schools, businesses, public transit stations and other trail networks throughout Central Virginia.

The Capital News Service had a nice piece that was picked up by the Virginia Mercury last week about the ground breaking that will take place in Henrico next month near Bryan Park as the county prepares a seven mile stretch built in eight phases.
