ALT #1 — OFF THE BEATEN PATH: Old Ad for a Modern Park
Richmond is blessed with groups that look out for and invest in their neighborhoods and surroundings. They help partner and assist the City out on the front lines in the corner of Richmond they see everyday, and they try to help maintain and improve it for everyone.
Over in Southside, there is a group called Friends of Fonticello Park that is going back over a century to help their park and their neighborhood in 2022. It's kind of cool how the history comes full circle. The Friends group has teamed up with another local business, Bonfire Funds, to sell a “modern vintage” tee to help further their mission.
Fonticello Park was established around 1915 or so and existed in various forms as the area grew…
